Proposal To Build High Speed Rail Station in Labu - MB NS

Seremban, 01 Apr. – Kerajaan Negeri Sembilan merangka cadangan pembangunan Transport Oriented Development (TOD) di kawasan Labu sebagai stesen hentian keretapi laju (bullet train) Kuala Lumpur – Singapura – Kuala Lumpur.
Berikut makluman Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan, YAB. Dato’ Seri Utama Hj Mohamad Hj Hasan di sidang media di Wisma Negeri, Seremban hari ini.
Menurut beliau, cadangan itu telah di bincangkan di Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri dan  di bawa ke peringkat Persekutuan, sehingga setakat ini ianya telah dipersetujui. Namun begitu, jajaran tersebut sedang diteliti dan dikenalpasti bagi merealisasikan TOD di negeri ini.
Menurut Menteri Besar, perkhidmatan keretapi laju ini tidak akan berhenti di Stesen Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) Seremban sebaliknya akan melalui jajaran baru dan memberi perkhidmatan berprestij tinggi untuk pengguna yang mahu ke Kuala Lumpur, ke Singapura, atau ke Lapangan Terbang KLIA, Sepang yang berhenti ke Labu.
Antara pelan pembangunan strategik yang di rancang oleh Kerajaan Negeri ialah pengguna yang dari Singapura, Johor, Melaka atau Negeri Sembilan yang mahu menaiki kapal terbang ke destinasi seterusnya. Mereka boleh transit di TOD Labu kemudiannya menukar haluan mereka ke jajaran keretapi ekspres ke KLIA pula.
Namun begitu, dengan pembangunan TOD ini kelak, ia akan merancakkan lagi ekonomi negeri ini selain memberi manfaat kepada Negeri Sembilan dalam sektor perkhidmatan.
Menurut Menteri Besar lagi, perkhidmatan di Stesen KTM Seremban iaitu perkhidmatan keretapi mel biasa, keretapi ekspress, komuter dan Electric Train Service (ETS) akan beroperasi seperti biasa walaupun terdapatnya TOD di Labu.
Ujar beliau, “ini bukan bermakna kita ada satu stesen baru, stesen lama kita tutup. Ia akan tetap beroperasi dan menjadikan pengangkutan keretapi di negeri ini bertambah pesat dan sibuk.”
Perkembangan lain pula, Kerajaan Negeri masih dalam rangka perbincangan bersama SPAD, KTM dan Kementerian Pengangkutan untuk memutuskan badan pengurusan TOD ini kelak.
